From October through May, there is no ceremony, but the sculpture is illuminated nightly at sunset.
The ceremony takes place from the Friday before Memorial Day through September 30 each year.

 NO - CEREMONY

• Riding in a Mercedes Glass-Top Sprinter Van . . . we drive you to Mt Rushmore for a daylight tour. You will learn the history of the monument and experience wonderous views of the 'Hills' through the all glass top.
• At dusk you will witness the golden-red sunset over the mountain range and Mt Rushmore. And then the bright white lights come up and illuminate the four faces of the monument. ​
• As we wait for the sky to darken and begin our search of the heavens . . . we offer you a selection of warm beverages to enjoy . . . coffee, tea or hot cocoa along with assorted snacks. 
• Your guide will teach you new technology to find passing satilites, shooting stars and view the Milky Way.  As we return you will view the lighted monument through the one-way tunnels on Iron Mtn Road.

​MAY 26TH to AUGUST 10th: ceremony starts  9 PM
AUGUST 11TH to SEPT 30TH: ceremony starts 8PM
Ceremony is 45-min program includes a ranger talk, the film Freedom: America's Lasting Legacy, ​and lighting of the memorial. 
​Also features a flag ceremony with military personnel and veterans.

YES - CEREMONY

• Touring in our specialized Mercedes Glass-Top Sprinter, we enter Mt Rushmore in daylight and tour the facility. You will be able to walk the Presidential Trail, visit Sculpturs Studio, museum and movie . . . with time to dine or shop before the Ceremony. ​
• At the conclusion you join your guide back in the Mercedes van and travel to Norberk Overlook along Iron Mtn Road.  Experiencing the one of a kind pigtail bridges and famous one way tunnels, pausing for photos.
• With the darkening sky we begin our search of the heavens      . . . finding passing satilites, falling stars and view the great expanse of the Milky Way. 
• As we return home you will view what only a few get to enjoy . . . the lighted monument through the one-way tunnels on Iron Mtn Road.
