devils Tower and WYOMING'S wild west
& black hills HISTORY

1st Stop - Sundance Mountain & Crook County Museum
The town of Sundance, WY was named after a Native American ceremony that took place on or near Sundance mountain.  And the famous Harry Longabaugh a.k.a. Sundance Kid got this outlaw name after spending time in the towns jail.
Crook County Museum is located in Sundance.  The museum will allow you to step back in time and experience an inspiring portrait of the true west.  Lots of history  . . . you can have seat in a spectator chair of the "Sundance Kid" trial. Gun historians will savor the impressive old west gun collection. The gallery offers a view of an exciting mix of exhibitions.

2nd Stop - Devils Tower National Monument
In 1906 named the First National Monument. Historically, many tribes of the Great Plains and Black Hills regions had connections with the area around Devils Tower. Stories and histories shared by tribal members indicate that the Tower was a sacred site - a place for winter camps, vision quests, and summer ceremonies.
