2024 Custer Stater Park
Buffalo Roundup
September 27 (One Day Only) Watch cowboys and cowgirls as they roundup and drive the herd of approximately 1,400 buffalo. This event is held on the last Friday in September every year. The herd is roundup annually from the 110 square mile park (one of the largest state parks in the US). They are herded into the corrals, where they are vaccinated and new calves are branded. 800+ head are then released back into the park. The remainder will be put up for auction in the coming months. |
