Wounded Knee Massacre
This tour is for those with little time that want to see the most. First, we travel to Pine Ridge Indian Reservation famous for the 1890 Wounded Knee Massacre of Chief Big Foot and 300 Miniconjou and Hunkpapa Lakota by the 7th US Cavalry.
Tour includes: Oglala Lakota College Wounded Knee Massacre Museum, the Wounded Knee Cemetery and Red Shirt Table.
After Pine Ridge we drive to the Badlands National Park. Walking the short Door and Window trail before traveling along the Badlands Loop. Beautiful landscapes abound along the drive, we stop at the many turnouts for viewing and photos.After exiting the Park we make the short drive to the Wall Drug Store . . . a famous and quant 'old tourist trap' . . . well worth the visit. Enjoy the '5 cent cup of coffee' and the 'free ice water'. Then a short drive back to your hotel. It is a long day. . . but worth it! This is a 265 mile tour.

Pine Ridge Indian Reservation-
Tours includes stops at Oglala Lakota College Historical Center, Wounded Knee Cemetery and the mass grave of Chief Big Foot and 300 of his band were killed at the Wounded Knee Massacre.
We will also stop at the towns of Scenic, White Clay and Pine Ridge,before traveling to the grave of Chief Red Cloud at the Red Cloud Heritage Center. Here you will be guided by a faculty member who will provided detailed history of the life of Lakota children at the old school and church.
(Available Summer Only) You will also visit the Red Cloud Schools Fine Arts Collection, viewing paintings, drawings, and sculptures representing a large number of different Native American tribal traditions. You can purchase the artwork at substantial savings, knowing it is authentic Lakota work and the money goes directly to the artist not the art dealer.
We return home by way of the Red Shirt Table and witness wonderful natural landscapes of the Southern Badlands. This is 220 mile tour.
